Background

Sotto Voce has been brought together by soprano, Jackie who is also the group's administrator and mentor! Jackie was inspired to form a choir after a successful performance at a wedding.

Jackie has been singing for most of her life and has performed a variety of principal roles in light opera. She has also sung solos on the opera course at Canford Summer School and with the Grosvenor and AMICI Choirs as well as with the Hallé.

All members of Sotto Voce are experienced choral singers who also perform solos. Several sing with the renowned Hallé Choir whilst other sing with smaller chamber choirs. The extensive experience of this group of musically accomplished singers results in a harmony which has delighted many audiences.

Sotto Voce's accompanist is Chris. After graduating from the Royal Northern College Music his career has taken him to all parts of the UK as a soloist as well as an accompanist. His broadcasts have included solos for the BBC. As well as conducting and teaching piano he has had a number of arrangements published.  Sotto Voce recorded his Requiem for voices, organ, horn and string orchestra in March 2005 (see link below).
